
The media sector is in constant flux. Old business models are under threat from digital technology, the market is fragmenting fast and advertising revenues are being spread more thinly across more media.
Nevertheless opportunities are constantly appearing, as companies change direction and redefine their core offerings.
We consider that content is all-important, as proliferating distribution channels are creating exciting new opportunities. Our focus is to seek out companies with compelling content that is platform neutral. A good example of such a company in our portfolio is Springer, which has a wealth of high quality academic content now being leveraged in new ways – most recently through ebooks.
As well as great content, we look for strong management who understand new media and can act on opportunities to expand brands internationally.
